California Affordable Housing Leadership Institute: Urban Affordable Housing 101

On behalf of the Southern CA Association of Nonprofit Housing (SCANPH) and California Community Economic Development Association (CCEDA), you are cordially invited to attend a training that will provide a foundational introduction to creating affordable housing. This comprehensive but concise seminar will provide an overview of site planning, entitlements, and financing of affordable housing, among other topics. This training is convened jointly by the CCEDA and SCANPH, with the curriculum drawn from SCANPH’s California Affordable Housing Leadership Institute (CALI).

The institute’s seminar is taught by experts and leaders in affordable housing in order to educate attendees about the unique challenges of affordable housing through key phases of development. The program will dive into the specifics of affordable housing in urban communities, shedding light on initiatives and strategies utilized to build the capacity needed to address our state’s affordability crisis.

The Affordable Housing 101 Webinar discussions will include:

• Site planning, entitlements, and project feasibility analysis
• Funding and financing 101 and the basics of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)
• Initial steps such as; building partnerships and organizational capacity.
