Make Do and Mend – Bicycle Maintenance
Time to give your bike a spring tune-up!

Whether you ride for exercise, for fun, or as a mode of transportation, basic bicycle maintenance is a handy skill to have. This special session gives cyclists tips to help them keep their bikes in tip-top shape.

For this beginner-level session, an instructor from re-Cycles will share some basic maintenance and tune-up skills, just in time for the start of bike season.

To make this session even more special, the War Museum’s Dr. Jeff Noakes, Historian, Second World War, will share little-known stories of bikes during wartime. From the Allies carrying bicycles ashore for use behind the lines in Normandy, to the impact of rationing on cycling, participants are sure to start viewing their bicycles in a whole new light.
