Getting It Right First Time in Oral Surgery: improving delivery of care
On Wednesday, 26th January 2022, GIRFT and the Faculty of Dental Surgery (FDS) at the Royal College of Surgeons will be co-hosting a lunchtime webinar to share the finding and recommendations of the GIRFT national report for hospital dentistry.

The webinar will focus the GIRFT report’s recommendations for the establishment of Managed Clinical Networks (MCNs), to ensure we provide the best patient care in a setting most appropriate for them. We will discuss the oral surgery commissioning guide and the importance of improving data quality to measure clinical outcomes and improve the delivery of care.

Liz Jones, GIRFT clinical lead and author of the report, and Matthew Garrett, dean of the FDS, will be joined by:

• Dr Julie Burke, president of the British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS) and senior lecturer and honorary consultant in Oral Surgery at University of Edinburgh
• Professor Paul Coulthard, professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery and dean and director at Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London
• Professor Judith Jones, professor of Oral Surgery and BDS programme director at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at King's College London, and honorary consultant in Oral Surgery at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
• Divya Keshani, consultant in Oral surgery at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS FT
• Professor Justin Durham, head of the School of Dental Sciences at Newcastle University, professor of orofacial pain and honorary consultant Oral Surgeon
