By definition, marketing refers to “the activity and process of creating, communicating, and delivering offerings for one’s products and services that could have value for potential clients”.
The long-term survival of any business depends on a steady supply of such clients. The question is: how do you do this? A big part of the answer lies in one’s ability to successfully market themselves.
If you’re self-employed (or want to be), remember the following “rule”: To stay in business you must profit. To profit you must sell. To sell you must market. And you can’t “market” effectively if you don’t understand “marketing” and have a successful “marketing strategy”. Failure to have a sound marketing strategy can lead to being permanently trapped in a “feast or famine” cycle or even business failure.
Over my 40+ year career as a self-employed medical illustrator, I’ve worked extensively in the editorial, advertising, pharma, medical publishing, patient education and medical legal markets. Through trial and error, I’ve developed a successful marketing strategy that’s helped me consistently attract and retain clients while avoiding the feast and famine cycle.
In this webinar, I’ll be discussing my personal marketing strategy in detail. This strategy has enabled me to determine the best target markets for the work I create, as well as identify high value, ideal clients and turn them into repeat customers, who want and value my medical knowledge and creative skills.
