Living with multiple myeloma
Lynn Worthen was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2010 after a routine physical at the age of 64. Although he hadn’t been feeling well for months, he was stunned when his doctor suggested multiple myeloma. He naturally grew concerned about the future, but he did research, worked with his healthcare team and talked with other patients and decided that an autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) was the best path for him. Lynn had 2 ASCTs, one in May and one in August of 2010. Lynn has been a pastor for for 47 years, and enjoys the support of his wife, son and daughter-in-law. He often volunteers in community activities and believes the Multiple Myeloma Journey Partners program is another way to make every day count. He finds the easiest way to keep a positive attitude is to focus on helping others.
