Jennifer Caraway
Compliance and Enforcement Officer
Jennifer Caraway is the Compliance and Enforcement officer for the Washington Lead-Based Paint Program. She has worked for the Department of Commerce for 3 ½ years. Prior to working for Commerce, Jennifer worked was a training instructor for 12 years, teaching asbestos, lead, HAZWOPER, OSHA 10 and 30, and other general health and safety training.
John Meier

With almost 30 years of experience with workers' comp, John Meier is the President and CEO of Employer Resources Northwest (ERNwest), one of the most trusted workers compensation companies in the state. John has served, and serves, on several committees including L&I’s Advisory Committee on Healthcare Innovation and Evaluation (ACHIEV) and numerous sub-committees that focus on making Washington’s workers’ compensation system less expensive and complex. John completed his undergraduate education at the University of Puget Sound majoring in Psychology, completed his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designation, and the Executive Management Program at the University of Washington.
Mike Octave
Vice President of Safety @Employer Resources Northwest (ERNwest)
Mike Octave is Vice President of Safety for ERNwest and has over 20 years of safety experience. Mike believes safety performance is critical and prides himself on finding practical and user-friendly solutions to help companies identify and mitigate workplace risk. Mike is an active member and former chapter President of American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Puget Sound and holds a Master of Science in Safety Management from West Virginia University. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and holds his Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
