Join us for our next #AskHer webinar "Caring for Nonprofit Leaders of Color." During this session, we'll explore the intersection of wellness and nonprofit leadership. We'll chat with C. Marie Taylor, President & Principal Consultant of Equity Through Action and Diana Ortiz, President & CEO of Doorways. The session will help create an open dialogue for nonprofit leaders of color, their staff, boards, and funders to prioritize leader wellness. Our special guests will provide some actionable strategies that nonprofit leaders can take away to address staffing, burnout, fatigue and other challenges, particularly during the pandemic. This timely chat will be moderated by Washington Area Women's Foundation Interim President and CEO, Jackie Lendsey.

Marie Taylor (President & Principal Consultant @Equity Through Action) C. Marie is a leadership, diversity, and race equity consultant with more than 25 years of expertise in guiding organizations to establish safe, equitable, inclusive, and people-centered work environments. In Ms. Taylor's immediate past role as the President & Chief Executive Officer of Leadership Montgomery, she served as the organization's main thought leader -creating racial equity training and technical assistance programming. Before her time at Leadership Montgomery, Ms. Taylor served as the Executive Director of the Greater Washington Community Foundation of Montgomery County where she was instrumental in initiating countywide research that led to the creation of the Children's Opportunity Fund. Panelist: Diana Ortiz (President and CEO @Doorways) Diana Ortiz, M.Ed., LPC is the President and CEO at Doorways, a local nonprofit seeking to end domestic and sexual violence and family. Diana is a passionate and creative leader with 20 years of experience advocating for the wellbeing and safety of children and families, specifically those impacted by complex trauma and violence. Diana is committed to working with historically marginalized communities and leading a new generation of advocates who understand the importance of collective efforts when making system-change and meaningful solutions in our communities. Interviewer: Jackie Lendsey (Interim President and CEO @Washington Area Women's Foundation) Jackie has 25+ years’ experience leading national and local nonprofit organizations. Since 2012, she has served as an interim executive professional, skilled at guiding organizations through transition in a limited time frame. Her expertise includes broad-based experience managing operations, internal and external communications and government relations, community relations, Board governance and education, grants management, program development and advocacy/public policy. Jacquelyn L. Lendsey has served as a Nonprofit Interim CEO/Executive Director consultant and a senior management executive leading and managing national, local and affiliate based nonprofit organizations.
