FEFLOW – A smooth introduction to groundwater flow modelling
Join the third session of our new monthly webinar series! These FEFLOW-related webinars focus on recurring training for groundwater modellers, geologists and hydrogeologists around the world and will take place on the third Thursday of every month. We will cover a variety of groundwater modelling topics relevant to any audience. Each session consists of 45 minutes of interactive hands-on exercises and 15 minutes of group discussion (Q/A).

In our May instalment, you will learn about best practices for getting started with groundwater flow modelling using the finite-elements in FEFLOW.

By the end of the webinar, you’ll be able to:
- Use meshing algorithms and conduct quality checks
- Implement material properties and boundary conditions
- Compute and evaluate water budgets
- Use cutting-edge visualizations

This webinar requires certain knowledge of FEFLOW and its graphical interface. Dr. Carlos Rivera Villarreyes is a Global Product Specialist and Product Owner for FEFLOW. Dr. Rivera has profound knowledge of groundwater and unsaturated zone modelling as well as parameter estimation and uncertainty analysis (e.g., with PEST), all these in the context of mining, geothermal, water resources, water quality applications, among others. He has carried several groundwater modelling projects and trained professionals in groundwater modelling around the globe.
