Public Hearing for Secord Dam and Smallwood Dam; Four Lakes Task Force; Gladwin County
David Kepler, Four Lakes Task Force, 233 E Larkin Street, Midland, MI 48640, has applied to EGLE for two permits under authority of Part 31, Water Resources Protection; Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams; Part 303, Wetlands Protection; and Part 315, Dam Safety, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). The applicant proposes modify existing spillways, replace existing gates, install steel sheet piling cutoff walls, construct a new auxiliary spillway, install low-level outlets, flatten embankment slopes, and install embankment drains at the Secord and Smallwood Dams. The projects are located in T19N, R01E, Section 15, Secord Township and T18N, R01E, Section 15, Hay Township, Gladwin County, Michigan, respectively.
