Join Capitol Park Museum for a free online presentation about "The University of Louisiana’s National Championship Weightlifting Teams – A Companion Book to the Documentary Ragin ’13" by the author Warren A. Perrin.

Our Lunchtime Lagniappe is an ongoing series of brown bag talks that start at noon and last approximately an hour.

Warren A. Perrin has a juris doctorate degree from LSU, is an attorney with the firm of Perrin Landry deLaunay and a skills professor at Loyola Law School. From 1994-2010, he was President of CODOFIL, the Council for Development of French in La. In 1999, he was awarded the French National Order of Merit Award and the Université Sainte-Anne in Canada gave him an honorary doctor of laws degree. He is the author of nine books on Louisiana French history, including Acadia Then and Now, the 2015 winner of Le Prix France-Acadie presented to him in Paris for publishing the outstanding book on Acadian history. He represented Louisiana and the United States at the World Francophone Summits in Romania, New Brunswick, Quebec, Vietnam and Switzerland. In 2007, he was inducted into the Louisiana Justice Hall of Fame. In 2015, he was presented the Daughters of the American Revolution Americanism National Medal of Honor. In 2016, he was awarded the Francophone Leadership Award by the Louisiana Bar Association. In 2018, he was guest lecturer at Yale University and was the recipient of the University of Louisiana’s Outstanding Alumni Award. In 2020, he was awarded the Lifetime Contribution to the Humanities Award by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. In 2021, he was honored with the LSBA Citizenship Lawyer Award for outstanding service to his community.
