The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Air Quality Division, (AQD) is holding an informational session and public hearing on February 25, 2025, at 6:00 pm, for a proposed air permit requested by Eagle Mine LLC for the installation of a paste backfill for backfilling the underground mine. The comment period will remain open until March 17, 2025. An amendment to the Eagle Mine Mining Permit is also required for this project. Therefore, EGLE Geologic Resources Management Division will conduct a public meeting during the information session for the mining permit amendment request application. Following the meeting, the written public comment period will be open until March 25, 2025. After registering, you will receive an email from "EGLE Outreach" with a link for you to use to join the online hearing. Pre-registration is not required to attend.
