Title: Understanding and Navigating Changes to NCAA Participation Policies Impacting Transgender and Gender Diverse Patients

Abstract: The purpose of this synchronous webinar is to provide Athletic Trainers with concise and meaningful knowledge related to the care of Transgender and Gender Diverse (TGD) patients participating in collegiate athletics. With a focus on interpreting the new NCAA Transgender Student-Athlete Participation Policy and how it impacts our patients, we will discuss medical exceptions, testosterone thresholds, testing timetables, and sport-specific regulations. Guidance and recommendations regarding how to approach compliance with these policies while be explored from an interprofessional and patient-centered lens.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Explain the historical context behind the changes to the NCAA Transgender Student-Athlete Participation Policy and how the changes impact the health and wellbeing of patients.
2. Compare and contrast NCAA policies with those of the IOC and NFSH that impact Olympic and secondary school athletes respectively.
3. Develop an interprofessional approach to assist transgender patients in accessing gender affirming care in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations
