Large scale models and the future of NLP
co:rise CTO Sourabh will have a discussion with Cohere Co-Founder Nick Frosst on the future of NLP and the latest trends. Topics will include how Cohere APIs allow for access to models that would be much harder to scale or run by individuals

What is Cohere:
Cohere is kickstarting a new chapter in machine learning by giving developers and businesses access to NLP, powered by the latest generation of large language models. The simple API can be used in different libraries that fit every stack. No matter your level of developer experience, Cohere makes it easy to build machine learning into any application so that you can generate, categorize and organize text at massive scale.

Who is Nick Frosst:
Nick Frosst is a Cofounder and CTO at Cohere, a provider of cutting-edge NLP models that’s solving all kinds of language problems. He leads the engineering team, playing a key role in refining user experience while defining a responsibility-focused culture. Before Cohere, Nick collaborated with Geoffrey Hinton, becoming Hinton’s first employee at Google Brain’s Toronto lab. Nick’s research focused on capsule networks, adversarial examples, and explainability. Based in Toronto, Nick holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from the University of Toronto. He is also the lead vocalist of the indie pop rock band Good Kid, and spends his free time dabbling in folk music.
