Matt Rothschild is the executive director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, where he has worked for the last eight years. His latest book is “12 Ways to Save Democracy in Wisconsin,” published by the University of Wisconsin Press. Before coming to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, he worked at The Progressive magazine for 32 years — for most of that time, as editor and publisher. An avid birdwatcher, Matt lives in the Town of Dunn, just south of Madison, with his wife Jean, whom he’s been married to for 37 years.
Scott Thompson
Attorney @Law Forward
Scott Thompson is a staff attorney at Law Forward, a nonpartisan, nonprofit impact litigation firm committed to protecting and advancing democracy and to restoring Wisconsin’s pragmatic progressive tradition. At Law Forward, he currently leads litigation and public education concerning voting rights and ballot access. His most recent accomplishment includes Carey v. WEC, in which the court affirmed voters with disabilities' right to ballot-return assistance, the right by which a voter may have a third party return their completed and sealed ballot on their behalf in the case that they are unable to do so themselves. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, Scott has spent his entire career fighting for Wisconsinites, both inside and outside of the courtroom.
