W. Hancock (Founder, Chairman and CEO @Asep Medical Holdings Inc.) Dr. Hancock is a leading microbiologist in Canada who has researched and taught at the University of British Columbia for 40 years. His chief interest is designing new therapeutic strategies to treat infections and inflammation in light of increasing antibiotic resistance. His research interests include cationic host defence peptides as novel antimicrobials, anti-biofilm agents, anti-inflammatory agents and modulators of innate immunity. He has published more than 760 papers and reviews, has more than 130,000 citations, has an h-index of 180, and has 76 patents awarded. Awards and honours include the Prix Galien (Highest award for Canadian Pharmaceutical Research and Innovation), the Killam Prize (Canada Council’s prize for Health Research), the Michael Smith CIHR Researcher of the Year, and the ICAAC Aventis Antimicrobial Research Award (Leading award worldwide for antimicrobial research). In 2001 he was inducted as an Officer of the Order of Canada. Dr. Evan Haney (Chief Science Officer @Asep Medical Holdings Inc.) Dr. Haney is an experienced scientist and research coordinator who has managed a team of up to 20 individuals over the past 10 years. He is an inventor on the peptide patents that are core to Asep Inc.'s therapeutic technology and has in-depth experience with the various endeavours relevant to clinical research. He has published over 40 papers in scientific journals related to peptide optimization and their development as therapeutics. Dr. Haney holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary. Mr. Timothy Murphy (Chief Operations Officer @Asep Medical Holdings Inc.) Tim is an experienced business executive and international lawyer. He sits on numerous company boards and is the Founding Partner of Murphy & Company LLP, a leading business law firm in Vancouver, Canada. Prior to founding Murphy & Company, he practised law with a prominent national law firm in Calgary, Alberta, gained international experience as an associate in the finance law group of a British “magic circle” law firm and served as in-house legal counsel for a multinational software company in Paris, France. Tim holds a bachelor of laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Saskatchewan, a master of laws (LL.M) degree from McGill University and is a member of the law societies of British Columbia and England & Wales.
