Together, we will explore compassion fatigue and the impact it is having on care providers and the people they support. After reviewing common signs and symptoms, we will identify strategies to respond to compassion fatigue in ourselves and others. “Naming” experiences in the most direct path to ‘taming’ them (i.e., selecting the right strategy at the right time).
Recognizing that we live and work in ‘systems,’ we will also explore collaborative and organizational approaches to helping navigate compassion fatigue. Specifically, we will identify opportunities to develop, maintain, and/or refine policies and practices that support staff wellness and engagement.
