My research interests are in Anthropocene, environmental humanities and temporality. My thesis employs theoretical frameworks associated with the field of postcolonial studies to read the environmental crisis unfolding in Africa from an Africanist cultural perspective. Filmmaker, artist in residence in Carlow art visual. Currently working on a documentary that looks at the changing nature of Irishness. I am a writer with regular contributions in Rogue Collective. I am also the co-editor in chief of Unapologetic. Unapologetic is a multidisciplinary, literary, cultural, and artistic response to the social issues and creative opportunities of contemporary Ireland. Niamh Shaw (Science communicator, writer, speaker @Dream Big Ltd) Niamh Shaw is a communicator, writer and explorer of space activities. Her work focusses on sharing the 'bigger perspective' of space to envisage a healthier, fairer and more equal, sustainable planet. With 2 degrees in engineering, a PhD in science and almost 20 years of performance & writing experience, she has been providing events for the general public since 2011. A recent graduate of practical science communication at Cambridge University, Niamh was awarded 'Outstanding contributions to STEM Communications' by Science Foundation Ireland in 2018. She provided the 'Space Hub' series of segments for RTE's 'Home School Hub' educational series, and recently launched a new podcast series 'Humans of Space'. She has spoken at prominent events including Áras an Uachtaráin on International Women's Day 2019, the Department of Foreign Affairs Dublin on St Brigids Day 2020, WIRED Live UK, NASA Johnson Space Centre (USA), TEDxUCD and New Scientist (UK) Sameera Mushini (Sustainability Executive and BWR Mark Lead @Business in the Community Ireland) Sameera is an Engineer and a Rural Manager by training. Her work in India primarily focused on finding viable market linkages to women’s community based organizations and their local microenterprise as a means to combat rural poverty. She has also worked in government think tank in India on public policy. In Ireland, Sameera works with the Business in the Community to help Irish businesses integrate sustainability into their business strategy and to drive continuous improvement. She is an advocate of conscious consumerism, and tries to embed that into her life choices. Sameera loves to hike and cycle and is on a constant lookout to find public transport options to travel around Ireland.
