William Lees Judson arrived on the banks of the Arroyo Seco in 1893 in search of a warm climate to live out the rest of his days. Judson, a plein air painter, immediately fell in love with the area. Determined never to move again, he sent for his family to join him. His sons, trained on the east coast in stained glass, soon started their firm in downtown Los Angeles. This talk will briefly cover the rich history of the now, one hundred twenty-five-year- old Judson Studios, which continues creating and restoring stained glass in what was once a sleepy west coast city. David Judson is president and owner of Judson Studios, the fifth generation of Judsons to operate the company.
