Description
The Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce and Equality Texas invite you to join us for a special virtual event on Monday, March 31, in honor of Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV). This session offers a TDOV program that companies, ERGs, and employees can add to their internal event schedules to honor and celebrate trans visibility in the workplace. This engaging panel will feature a screening of the Emmy®-nominated short film "Transgender, at War and in Love," followed by a powerful panel discussion on workplace inclusion, state laws affecting trans Texans, and the impact of storytelling on communities both online and in real life. ABOUT THE FILM: "Transgender, at War and in Love" is an Emmy®-nominated short documentary that follows Laila and Logan Ireland, two transgender service members balancing their military careers and personal lives while facing the challenges of serving under restrictive policies. The film provides an intimate look at their love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to both their country and each other, highlighting the broader movement for American equity. Originally released 10 years ago, this film captured a pivotal moment in the fight for transgender military inclusion. Today, with a new policy pending, Logan, Laila, and thousands of transgender service members are once again facing the same uncertainty about their right to serve. Film will be screened during the event, and can be viewed ahead of time here: https://www.freelionproductions.com/filmography/v/transgender-at-war-and-in-love-documentary-short
