The Sixth Assessment Report published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) shows that based on current and trending carbon emission rates, the earth's temperature will increase by 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2040. In order to mitigate further climate catastrophe, Nations and Industries alike must amend their activities and prioritize lowering emission. The building sector alone accounts for 40% of all global carbon emissions, therefore data-driven design decisions can significantly reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions of buildings. Achieving zero carbon today is not as difficult as it may once have seemed. The knowledge and technology are available in all climates, and the health, economic and environmental benefits are well documented. During this session we will show the impact of performance modeling especially in the early stages of design to achieve net zero energy buildings.
