She has been a Muslim youth health educator for over 11 years and teaches health education at schools and community centers focusing on physical, social, mental, reproductive, and sexual health education. She is also the chair of the Education Committee for the Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA) for the past 5 years and community educator for the Family and Youth Institute since 2021. Sister Amber has written the first health curriculum for youth called Islamic Health; a textbook series with two volumes: Book I for ages nine and up, and Book II for ages 14+. This series is the first of its kind to tackle the most common health concerns by putting the Islamic way of life at the forefront of its answers and centering the Muslim narrative. Sister Amber also holds an Associates’ Degree in Islamic Studies from Mishkah University. GreenFaith Fellow & serves as Senior Muslim advisor;Co-founder & Chair of the Green Muslims of New Jersey (GMNJ);a founding committee member of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Green Initiatives;a founding member of the GMCN;Co-drafter of the FCNA "Fatwa" Religious ruling on fossil fuel divestment;Member of the scholars Drafting team of Al-Mizan-Covenant for the Earth" organized under the auspices of UNEP-Faiths for Earth;Imam and Muslim Chaplain at Drew University, received his MA in Religion & Society, specializing in Religion & the Environment. Currently a Doctorate of Ministry student. Head of ISNA Office for Interfaith & Community Alliances and Government relations Imam Zahid Shakir (Scholar @Zaytuna College) Imam Zaid Shakir is an American Muslim scholar and co-founder of Zaytuna College in Berkeley, California. He teaches courses on Arabic, law, history, and Islamic spirituality. Shakir assumed leadership of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA) from 2020 until 2022, which is a broad-based alliance of Muslims dedicated to striving for justice and promoting what they deem as the "life-giving truth" of Islam. He has been listed in the 500 Most Influential Muslims (also known as The Muslim 500), Tobacco Free Kids: For more than 25 years, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization) has fought to protect children and save lives from the #1 cause of preventable death: tobacco use. Their vision is a future free of the death and disease caused by tobacco. It is the leading advocacy organization working to reduce tobacco use and its deadly consequences in the United States and around the world. Dr. Azeem Elahi (Pulmonologist ) Azeem Elahi is a pulmonologist in Concord, North Carolina and and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center and Atrium Health-Cabarrus. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and has been in practice between 11-20 years.
