During the 2019-20 flu season, reported seasonal influenza (flu)-related deaths in children reached record numbers. Further, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many children missed well-child visits and routine vaccinations, which protect children younger than 5 years from 14 vaccine-preventable diseases (including flu). Head Start programs can help protect children by ensuring they are up to date on all routine vaccinations. Join this webinar to learn how vaccinating children against flu and other vaccine-preventable diseases can reduce the likelihood of illness and potentially serious complications. Learn about the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s immunization schedule for children along with the catch-up immunization schedule and why it is important to follow. Discover resources you can use with multiple audiences to encourage timely vaccination.
This webinar will be offered with simultaneous interpretation in Spanish.
