Join us for an Alumni College webinar on March 23rd at 6 PM CDT with Nancy Latham, COE Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs & Executive Director of the Council on Teacher Education.

This presentation/conversation will examine historical trends and patterns in teacher shortage in Illinois, recent factors contributing to the rising shortage issues, and long-term solutions.

Nancy Latham

Dr. Nancy Latham currently serves as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Executive Director of the Council of Teacher Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She has served as a lead consultant on state-wide early childhood employment pathway efforts in Illinois and teacher preparation pathway competency development and implementation. Prior to joining UIUC she served as an administrator and Early Childhood Professor at Illinois State University. In addition, she was a tenured community college professor and a public-school teacher and administrator. Dr. Latham has published and presented extensively on teacher attrition, specifically the impacts of teacher preparation model on teacher persistence in the field and co-authored and edited publications on the implementation of competencies in ECE workforce pathways.
