Coins are an essential primary sources of evidence for all students of the ancient world, historians, archaeologists and literary scholars alike, but specialist teaching in numismatics is not always available in universities. This free introductory seminar aims to introduce students to the range of questions that archaeologists and historians can ask of coins, and to provide an overview of some of the analytical techniques used in the study of numismatics.
