Equity Audit: Employment Policies & Practice
This webinar series is designed to introduce Equity Audits to school districts and other public sector organizations.

An Equity Audit is a comprehensive review of an organization’s policies, practices, as well as working/service delivery environment and organizational culture through an equity lens.

In this first webinar in the Equity Audit Webinar Series with Tana Turner, we will focus on Employment Equity Audit purpose, process, and outcomes; and the role of Staff Census data in supporting the Equity Audit process.

Tana Turner of Turner Consulting Group has conducted over 50 Equity Audits. She will discuss the Equity Audit process and outcomes and how they can be used to identify and address inequities. She will also answer questions from webinar participants.

Tana Turner

Tana Turner is a researcher, consultant, and advocate for social justice and systems change. In the early 1990s, Tana worked within the provincial government to develop employment equity legislation, and to implement employment equity within the Ontario Public Service. Since 2002, she has worked as a consultant to support organizations in the non-profit and public sectors to to understand and respond to the increased diversity of the labour market, employee population, and population served. She has supported a number of school boards on their equity journey, including York Region, Peel, Niagara, Greater Essex County, Durham Catholic, and Thames Valley District School Boards.
