Women in Preservation with Ruth O'Loughlin
The "Women in Preservation" virtual speaker series features women from a variety of backgrounds who are working to save Arkansas's historic places. Our next webinar will feature Ruth O'Loughlin, site director at Lakeport Plantation in Chicot County. Ruth has nearly 20 years of museum experience. She started in high school working for the Midland County Historical Society in her hometown of Midland, Michigan, and continued there while earning her Bachelor's Degree in History from Central Michigan University. In 2007, she moved to Lake Village, Arkansas, through the Teach for America Program to teach fifth grade at Lakeside Elementary School and later became the K-5 librarian. During the summers, she worked weekends at Lakeport Plantation. In 2018, she left Lakeside Elementary to take a full-time position at Lakeport.

Women in Preservation is generously supported by DEMX Architecture.

We look forward to seeing you!
