Individuals with ADHD often experience challenges in communication, executive function, and social interactions that can impact daily life. This webinar, led by speech-language pathologist Letizia Hendrickson, will explore the critical role of speech therapy in supporting individuals with ADHD. Designed for psychologists, psychiatrists, ADHD coaches, and parents, the session will highlight the various ways speech therapy can improve social communication, language processing, executive function, literacy, and self-awareness. The presentation will also emphasize the importance of family-centered care and collaboration among professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Participants will gain insight into therapy approaches, strategies, and activities that enhance communication and executive function, ultimately fostering success in individuals with ADHD.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify the communication and executive function challenges commonly associated with ADHD.
2. Explain how speech therapy addresses social communication, language processing, executive function, literacy skills, self-awareness, speech production, and voice disorders in individuals with ADHD.
3. Describe evidence-based speech therapy approaches and strategies that support communication and executive function in individuals with ADHD.
4. Recognize the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in ADHD management and how speech-language pathologists contribute to family-centered care.
