Prep Rally for DRBC Frack Hearings
On October 28, the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) published draft natural gas regulations that propose to ban the discharge of wastewater produced by fracking but not the import of this toxic and radioactive wastewater into the Delaware River Watershed nor do they propose to ban exports of water for fracking operations outside of the basin. See:

Riddled with loopholes, the draft regulations do not prohibit frack wastewater processing, storage, or disposal!

Hearings are coming up December 8 and 15 and we want all of us to get ready for them!
We are arguing for substantial expansion of the public participation process. The written comment period for the draft rules ends February 28, 2022, extended due to public protest that the previous January 28 deadline was not nearly long enough. A big problem is public hearings are set in December, when many are too busy with the holidays to attend. We want additional hearings and more input but in the meantime we still need to be ready for the upcoming hearings.

So the Delaware River Frack Ban Coalition is hosting a webinar forum on Wednesday, December 1st at 7pm. You are invited to join us to hear about the issues involved and brush up on why we have all been fighting for a full frack ban – one that not only stops fracking, which was accomplished in February of this year, but also bans the pollution from frack wastewater imports and the export of Delaware River Watershed water for use in fracking outside of the watershed.

PLEASE JOIN US! Talking Points and tips for speaking at the hearings will be shared, you can share your thoughts and questions, and we can get ready to speak our minds to the DRBC December 8 and 15!
