Join us via Zoom for a virtual genealogical program as part of our annual Find Your Ancestors series.
Learn about your ancestors and the history of Wisconsin communities through maps. You may be familiar with plat maps and Sanborn maps, but have you ever used field maps from the Wisconsin Land Economic Inventory? Have you used aerial photographs from 1937? Maps and related sources can help you find your ancestors' farms and residential houses. They can also give you a better sense of the communities they lived in, including schools, transportation routes, types of farming, Native American heritage, and the natural landscape.
