Dr Sina Alaghmand
Senior Hydrologist @eWater
Dr Alaghmand is a Civil Engineer with a PhD in Water Resources Engineering from the University of South Australia. He has been involved in a wide range of water resources projects in Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, including hydraulic and hydrological modelling, flood risk mapping, floodplain management, impacts of land-use and climate change, salinity management and surface water and groundwater interactions. Sina holds a MSc in River Engineering from the University of Science Malaysia in 2009 and a BSc in Water Engineering from the Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. In 2014, he joined the Department of Civil Engineering at Monash University as a lecturer in Water Engineering. Sina’s PhD thesis focussed on floodplain salinity management in the irrigation districts of the Lower River Murray, South Australia. He will draw on this and subsequent experiences to inform his presentation.
