Centering Care in Women, Peace and Security: Reflections from Civil Society in the Context of the Fourth Swiss National Action Plan 1325
For the first time, civil society is an implementing partner in Switzerland’s National Action Plan 1325. The past two years were dedicated to investigating how care relates to women’s participation and peacebuilding.

This virtual conference is the culmination of this project where key findings will be presented and discussed in a broader context with civil society actors and policymakers.

We will touch upon care’s fundamental contribution to everyone’s sense of security all while being a major obstacle to women’s participation and why it should therefore be at the center of peacebuilding. We will furthermore highlight how Switzerland could reach the feminist peace vision behind the Women, Peace and Security Agenda, by anchoring it in domestic politics too.
