Description
As global crises and conflicts continue to reshape the geopolitical landscape and impinge on Europe’s security, the European Union (EU) finds its role in international security increasingly tested. From Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to Iran’s nuclear dispute and the Middle East wars, it is urgent to examine how the EU navigates the systemic forces—geopolitical rivalries, fragmented regional governance, and internal divisions—that constrain its and its member states’ foreign policies. Join us for the online launch event of Conflict Management and the Future of EU Foreign and Security Policy, the second book in the Trends and Perspectives in International Politics series, edited by IAI for Routledge. The authors Riccardo Alcaro and Pol Bargués, Professor of Political Science at Fulda University of Applied Sciences Claudia Wiesner and the editor of the series Leo Goretti will shed light on the evolving nature of European security, discussing its interactions with its domestic context and systemic factors that make the EU’s actorness as a ‘relational power’.
