Centering Community, Equity, and Culture in Urban Agriculture and Food Systems Planning
Hosted by the Landscape - Land Use Planning Professional Practice Network (PPN)

Join us for an exploration of three approaches to city-led planning for urban agriculture and urban food systems. This series of presentations and panel discussion will include leaders from the cities of Atlanta, New Haven, and Philadelphia who are working with their own local constituencies to acknowledge urban agriculture as a land use, an infrastructure, and a cultural activity through locally nuanced planning efforts. Together we will explore the challenges, opportunities, and emerging successes of balancing these factors from leadership roles in the public sector.

J. Olu Baiyewu, Urban Agriculture Director, City of Atlanta
Elizabeth Beak, Food Systems Planner, City of Atlanta Office of Housing and Community Development, Department of City Planning
