Navajo Pueblitos of Dinetah presentation by archaeologist Ronald H. Towner, PhD
Navajo pueblito ("little pueblo") sites include masonry structures and forked-stick hogans in defensible positions in northern New Mexico's traditional Navajo homeland of Dinetah. The pueblitos evidently were constructed by Navajos for protection against Ute raiders, and most of the sites were occupied for relatively short periods as early as the 1500s.
