Utilizing Satellite Imagery Data for Sustainable Palm Oil Production
This webinar seeks to explore the key concerns of sustainability in the palm oil industry, including dispelling the myths and the alleged bad repute behind the palm oil industry. A session on how we could utilize satellite imagery data to enhance sustainability in the palm oil industry would also be covered in this webinar alongside an interactive Q&A session with the attendees. Attendees would come away from this session with a better understanding of the challenges facing the palm oil industry pertaining to sustainability and also how technology could play a major role to help mitigate these challenges.

Dr Rosediana Soeharto, MSc, PhD
Executive Director, Responsible Palm Oil Initiative
Dr. Rosediana Suharto was the chairperson in charge of the Indonesian Palm Oil Commission established by the Minister of Agriculture in March 2003 until 2010. A doctorate from the University of Aston in the United Kingdom, and Master of Science from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia in the field of Chemistry. She was a government official for more than 36 years holding positions such as advisor to the Minister of Trade and Industry and the Head of the Research of Development Agency of Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Director of Standardization and Quality Control , Ministry of Trade and many other positions. Her experience also include the production and marketing of agriculture products and was engaged with Word Bank , ADB/FAO, UNDP and IFAT as a consultant. She was also executive chairman of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil Commission (ISPO Commission) in 2010 to 2015. Since 2015 she is the Executive Director of Responsible Palm Oil Initiatives (RPOI).
Mr Jonathan Ong
Regional Sales Manager, SEA, Planet
Jonathan is the Southeast Asia Regional Sales Manager with Planet. He started his career with Procter & Gamble gaining experience in supply chain management across the APAC region, before moving on to a SEA regional sales role in the marine industry. He is passionate about space technology and sustainability, and has joined Planet to advance Earth Observation solutions in the market. Jonathan holds an honours degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
