Indigenous-specific racism in BC health care and the path forward
Virtual event
Wednesday, October 6, 2021
4:00 to 5:00 PM

Join us at our virtual fall session of St. Paul’s Foundation Future Leaders Speaker Series and hear from Indigenous Wellness & Reconciliation experts at Providence Health Care (PHC). Learn how PHC is recognizing the findings from In Plain Sight, a 2020 report addressing racism, stereotyping, and discrimination against Indigenous peoples in the BC health care system. During this webinar, we will explore how to improve accountability for Indigenous-specific racism, increase cultural safety and expand Indigenous leadership across all industry sectors.

After our speaker presentation, there will be an opportunity to have your questions answered at the Q&A session.

Guest speakers:
• Harmony Johnson, Interim Vice President, Indigenous Wellness & Reconciliation, PHC
• Sheri Hundseth, Director, Indigenous Relations and Community Engagement, PHC

Raising Funds for Indigenous Wellness and Reconciliation
St. Paul’s Foundation Future Leaders are raising funds to support Providence’s Indigenous Wellness and Reconciliation program. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support self-identified Indigenous patients and families by providing enhanced access to cultural and spiritual cared culturally safe spaces, and culturally safe caregivers.
