Date & Time

Selected Sessions:

Description
For signatories of the Australia and New Zealand Openness Agreements on Animal Research and Teaching, and those still considering signing up. This webinar includes ideas for getting started, what to expect, the support and advice available. Much of the information about animal-based research and how to communicate about it assumes that researchers are working with common laboratory species: mice, rats and zebrafish. In Australia and New Zealand researchers work with a wide variety of animals, which affects their approach to communications. How should your openness change if you work with larger species, livestock, wildlife, or rare and unusual animals which need specialist approaches? The regulations can be different, and care and welfare can also mean thinking differently. Given these differences, what about communication approaches? In this session Bella and Jodi will discuss how different organisations carrying out research with an array of "non-lab" animals have approached openness. Do bring your thoughts and questions, or just come to listen to the discussion. This webinar will be live at the time stated, and the session recording will be available to all for 72 hours after the end of the webinar. You will need to register to view the recording. All past webinars are available to UAR Oceania members through the video portal. If you work for a member organsiation and are unsure how to access these, contact Bella.
