All About Oversight Season

DC's public agencies are responsible for schools, transportation, health, safety, housing, and more. Each of these agencies should work for the people — but in order to do that they need to hear from DC residents. This is what performance oversight season is all about.

On Thursday, January 26 at 7:00pm join us for a virtual conversation about the performance oversight process and ways that every DC resident can participate. Councilmember Janeese Lewis George (Ward 4) will share why testimony from residents matters and how it informs the Council's work. You'll come away with an overview of DC agencies, the hearing schedule, tips for drafting great testimony, and a chance to sign up directly to testify.

This event is co-hosted by ACLU of DC, DC Action, DC for Democracy, DC Fiscal Policy Institute, DC Justice Lab, Empower DC, Empower Ed, and the Fair Budget Coalition. This event is free and open to the public.
