Silva Neves is a COSRT-accredited and UKCP-registered psychosexual and relationship psychotherapist and a trauma psychotherapist. He is a Pink Therapy Clinical Associate. He sees individuals and couples presenting with a wide range of sex and relationship issues. Silva specialises in working with sexual trauma and compulsive sexual behaviours. Silva is also a COSRT-accredited clinical supervisor, he is a Course Director for CICS (Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology), and speaks internationally. Silva is a member of the editorial board for the leading international journal Sex and Relationship Therapy. Silva is the author of Compulsive Sexual Behaviours, A Psycho-Sexual Treatment Guide for Clinicians (2021, Routledge). He holds a Post-graduate Fellow Psychiatry at the University of Florence, a Master in Affective Neuroscience from the University of Maastricht (Holland), a Master in Sexual Medicine at the University of Florence (Italy), and a Ph.D. in Methodology of Clinical Research at the University of Brescia (Italy). His training included also a special four years training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and an intensive course of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the John's Hopkins University, Baltimore (USA). He is the main investigator for the University of Florence for several multi-centric research projects in Italy (Naples, Chieti Pescara, Padua, Turin, Pisa), and with the University of Vermont (Burlington, USA). . From 2016 and 2018 he had the role of assistant professor and then from 2018 he is associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Florence. He is the author of 97 peer-reviewed international manuscripts.
