Dan Guerrero Happy Hour with Susie Garcia, Women-in-Mariachi Pioneer

Mariachi Mistress Susie Garcia joins Dan Guerrero on the next Happy Hour of streamed conversations. An early pioneer of the modern all-female mariachi movement in the 90s, Garcia eventually founded Las Colibrí in 2009. The all-string female ensemble continues its mission to preserve the cultural values, heritage and traditions of the Mexican and Mexican-American/Chicano people. When not performing at the Hollywood Bowl or the Anson Ford Theater, the mother of two small children uses her maternal skills working with the next generation of mariachi women through an education program she founded.
