Meet the Expert: The Armourers of New Julfa

The Wallace Collection is home to a remarkable and richly-decorated armour made in 1844 in New Julfa, the Armenian neighbourhood of Isfahan. In this talk, Arthur Bijl will explore the rich artistic tradition of this neighbourhood, its trials and tribulations during the eighteenth century, and its importance as a centre of armour making during the nineteenth century.
