Laura Salgado
Global Campaign Coordinator @The Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC)
Laura was the first recipient of the Judy Wilkenfeld Annual Award (2008) for her leadership in tobacco control in Latin America and around the world. Since 2003, she’s been actively working with advocates and policymakers to advance the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). In 2004, Laura worked for the Framework Convention Alliance (FCA) for 13 years coordinating advocacy campaigns and training programs. Here, she also coordinated the logistics, regional advocacy, and capacity building-programs for the Conference of the Parties (COP). In 2017, Laura managed and coordinated multisectoral networks at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to address noncommunicable diseases.
LaTrisha Vetaw
Director of Health Policy and Advocacy @NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center in North Minneapolis
First elected in 2017, LaTrisha currently serves as an at-large commissioner and Vice President of the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board. LaTrisha is an experienced leader and community organizer. She has worked in Minneapolis for more than a decade to help advocate for policies and programs that make Minneapolis a healthier place to live, work and play. LaTrisha has created, led and participated in numerous equity and advocacy coalitions. She served as the chair of the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition and facilitated Breathe Free North, a coalition of primarily African American, at-risk youth from North Minneapolis that works to reduce the harms of commercial tobacco. Currently, LaTrisha co-leads Minnesotans for a Smoke-Free Generation and co-chairs the menthol coalition, which successfully advocated for one of the first citywide restrictions on menthol cigarette sales in the country.
Nichelle Gray
Program Coordinator @Action on Smoking and Health
Nichelle Gray has been a part of the tobacco control community for more than 20 years. As the Program Coordinator for ASH, she has been instrumental in the development of strategic tobacco control advocacy campaigns, publications and reports. Nichelle has worked for years with tobacco control organizations around the globe coordinating advocacy projects through her previous position as member services coordinator for the Framework Convention Alliance (FCA), overseeing the publication of the FCA bulletin for delegations to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and managing the annual U.S. data collection and reporting for the STOP Partners Global Tobacco Industry Interference Index.
