From Nutrition Commitments to Action: The Importance of a Coalition for Action on Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems for Children and All in this the Decade of Action on Nutrition
This is an accredited side-event of the Nutrition for Growth Summit 2021 and will focus on the Coalition for Action on Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems for Children and All, emerging from the UN Food System Summit process.

The session is moderated by Pierre Cooke, Prime Minster of the Barbados National Youth Parliament and Technical Advisor in the Healthy Caribbean Coalition.

The moderator and speakers will explore how the Coalition for Action on Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems for All through its proposed actions (e.g. food fortification, shifting demands and behaviour, food environment interventions), can work across diverse food systems actors in support of national roadmaps for food system transformation, while ensuring accountability for commitments made in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The side event feature opening remarks and a panel discussion between H.E. Dr. Lia Tadesse, Minister of Health, Ethiopia, Anders Nordstrom, Ambassador for Global Health at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Gunhild Stordalen, Founder & Executive Chair, EAT, Prof. Corinna Hawkes, Director of the Centre for Food Policy at City, University of London, Dr. Naoko Yamamoto, Assistant Director General, World Health Organization and closing remarks from Gerda Verburg, SUN Global Coordinator.

There will be a Q&A section with audience towards the end.
